Clearly, I'm not there. Metallica gets me there. Red Hot Chill Peppers, NIN and Foo Fighters get me there. Rammstein, Coldpay and Placebo. Not some old guy that sings about being a little dog or some over rated kiwi band that's played the main stage just about every fucking year.

This is exactly the kind of small minded crap which meant that people like you didn't go to the Big Day Out. Which explains the absence of alcohol poisoning hospitalisations and Westies arrested for fighting.
And Coldplay at a Big Day Out in this day and age? What are you on?
Small minded? I've been to BDO three times. For good bands. like coldplay and NIN.
I'll admit Nine Inch Nails were superb. But the BDO should be a showcase of alternative music. Coldplay hardly fit the bill. I know they played in 2001, but that was very early in their career.
Alternative Music. Interesting defintion that. One thinks Pumpkins, alice in chains, STP, rage et al.... any ways i go to big day to see bands i like and love not to discover the vastly over mars volta or some lastest craze. flaming lips were amusing and all one year but in the end to get me to bdo from wellington to auckland there has to be a few name bands - i'd seen the white stripes and f.f.d. so why go? small minded my ass, its the money too honey.
